Discover about Reduced Head Knurled Rivet Nuts
Explore the Stainless Steel Reduced Head Knurled Rivet Nuts from RivetGo, designed for applications where minimal protrusion and space-saving are essential. These rivet nuts offer a low-profile solution for creating strong threads in thin materials without the need for deep countersinking. Crafted from stainless steel, they offer excellent corrosion resistance for long-lasting performance. Check out other knurled rivet nuts: Flat Head Knurled Rivet Nuts and Countersunk Head Knurled Rivet Nuts.
Key Features
The Reduced Head Knurled Rivet Nuts feature a smaller head compared to flat head designs, providing a low profile that reduces protrusion while maintaining strength. Unlike countersunk head options, they don’t require deep countersinking, making them suitable for thinner materials. The knurled body ensures superior grip and anti-rotation in soft materials like plastic or aluminum.
Applications
Best suited for precision machinery, small electronic devices, and lightweight assemblies where space is limited, these rivet nuts are available in M3 to M12. Pair with our Rivet Nut Tools for easy installation.

Understanding the Size Chart:
- Thread Size (d): The metric thread size (e.g., M3, M4) compatible with matching bolts or screws.
- Grip Range (e): The range of material thickness the rivet nut can securely fasten (e.g., 0.5-2 mm).
- Hole Size (H): The recommended diameter of the hole to be drilled in the material for installation.
- Head Height (E): The height of the rivet nut head after installation, affecting the protrusion above the surface.
- Head Diameter (B): The diameter of the rivet nut head, determining the contact area with the material.
- Overall Length (L): The total length of the rivet nut before installation.
- Installed Length (L₂): The length of the rivet nut after installation, indicating the space it occupies.

Metric or Imperial?: The thread size measurement standard, determining bolt compatibility. Options are Metric (e.g., M3, M4) and Imperial (e.g., 1/4-20). Note: At RivetGo, we only sell Metric rivet nuts.

Installation Guide
- Drill a hexagonal hole in the material matching the specified Hole Size (H) in the Size Chart.
- Insert the Reduced Head Hexagon Rivet Nut into the hexagonal hole, ensuring the hex body aligns with the hole shape.
- Use a compatible rivet nut tool to compress and secure the rivet nut, locking the hex body into the material.
- Thread a matching bolt or screw into the rivet nut to complete the assembly.
Note: Ensure the material thickness falls within the specified Grip Range (e) for a secure fit.
Technical Notes
- Ensure the material thickness is within the Grip Range to avoid installation failure.
- Requires a hexagonal hole for installation to maximize anti-rotation performance; use a hex broach or punch for accurate hole preparation.
- The reduced head design minimizes protrusion, making it ideal for space-constrained, high-torque applications.
- Open End design allows flexibility for bolts of varying lengths but is not suitable for waterproof applications.
- Recommended for use with stainless steel bolts to prevent galvanic corrosion.
